The two-line Sharps 1848 patent date is stamped on the left side of the receiver. The rear sight base is stamped with the usual "R.S. Barrel is roll-stamped "NEW MODEL 1863" between the rear sight and the receiver. The receiver retains the complete Lawrence pellet primer.
